Ghana Asset Recovery
The Office of the Special Prosecutor announced the recovery of GHS 1.2 billion — approximately $75 million — in misappropriated funds linked to procurement irregularities at a state-owned utilities company over a five-year period.
The case involved 12 individuals, six of whom have entered plea agreements while the remaining six face trial scheduled for September.
OSP head Kissi Agyebeng said the recovered assets would be placed in a dedicated public infrastructure fund for rural electrification projects.
