Cape Town Tops Conde Nast Traveller's Best City in Africa for Third Year

Cape Town Travel Award

Cape Town has retained its top position in Condé Nast Traveller's prestigious Reader's Choice Awards, beating Marrakech, Nairobi, and Cairo to claim the African crown for the third year running.

Judges highlighted the city's food scene — particularly the Bree Street restaurant corridor and the expanded V&A Waterfront Market — alongside new adventure offerings including paragliding from Lion's Head and cage diving at Gansbaai.

Cape Town Tourism CEO Enver Duminy said the award validates significant post-pandemic investment in product development and positioned the city as a year-round destination rather than a summer peak play.
