With under three weeks to polling day, Kenya's electoral commission has registered over 22 million voters — a record high. The race is effectively a three-horse contest with lead candidates polling within statistical margins of error.
The Rift Valley, Nairobi, Mombasa Coast, Mount Kenya region, and Western Province have been identified as swing battlegrounds where voter turnout will be decisive.
International observers from the AU, EU, and Carter Center have deployed over 800 monitors across the country.
